Today is both a very special happy birthday to DeviantArt, and a special day for you to be a premium member for a day. Check out the latest news update on more info.

Since I'm a cheapskate, I'm highlighting a few tweaks that you can do today as a premium member, that stay in your DA account even as a non-member. But you must do it today as a premium member!

  • Add thumbnails in your artist description. Ever wanted to show your visitors other related art, but, can only add a text link? (In case you didn't know, here's a tutorial on how to do it.) Show, don't tell, by adding thumbnail links in the artist descriptions of your deviations. You can get the thumbnail code of any deviation and insert it in journals, art descriptions, and more. For example, This costume piece: Korra the Avatar by craftysorceress is a thumbnail here in this journal, which, if I don't edit this, stays in this journal. Also in the artist's description, I have previews of other art with me in the costume.
  • Add new colors to your gallery by adding Gallery CSS. I am using the lovely journal and gallery CSS skin, .:Pink Passion - Gallery by GinkgoWerkstatt by the talented :iconginkgowerkstatt:. Here's a quick live example of my galleries now. I am pretty confident that gallry and journal changes remain in your account even when you lose the Premium membership, so go browse the compelte journal and gallery CSS sets to make your gallery different from the rest.
  • Pick up a portfolio. If you haven't dabbled with one, go get one, or use an existing single one. For more info, here details what else you get with the free premium membership, and the portfolio info.
  • Make gallery subfolders. Organize your deviations even more.

Happy tweaking & happy birthday DA!
